    AME 2026 explores how education can help re-create the social fabric in a fragmented world. The conference brings together scholars, educators, practitioners, and policymakers to reflect on moral, civic, and character education, with a strong emphasis on relationality, human flourishing, and shared responsibility.

    The conference is open to: - Researchers and scholars in moral, character, and civic education - Educators at all levels (schools and universities) - Educational leaders and policymakers - NGOs and organizations working in values, virtues, and socio-emotional education

    The Programs & Practice Day (Saturday, June 13) is dedicated to organizations that offer or implement educational programs in moral, civic, character, socio-emotional, virtues, and values education. It is designed to connect program providers with schools, universities, NGOs, and policymakers interested in learning about, adopting, or collaborating on these initiatives.

    No. The Programs & Practice Day does not include academic research presentations. Researchers wishing to present studies or theoretical work should submit proposals under the Paper, Symposium, or Poster formats within the academic program.

    AME 2026 accepts four types of submissions: - Papers - Symposia - Posters - Educational Programs and Initiatives (for the Programs & Practice Day only) Each format has specific submission guidelines detailed in the Call for Proposals.

    Schools, NGOs, universities, foundations, companies, and organizations that actively implement or offer educational programs related to the conference theme. Proposals should focus on practice, implementation, and/or evidence-informed approaches.

    The official and main language of the conference is English. However, there will be parallel sessions held in Spanish.

    Yes. The AME Travel Grant Program supports: - Student presenters - Early-career scholars (within five years of their highest degree) - Faculty from low and lower-middle income countries Applications are due by March 15, 2026.

    Full conference registration (Student and Regular) includes: - Access to all conference sessions (June 12–14) - One-year AME membership - Online access to the Journal of Moral Education (JME) for one year - Coffee breaks and lunches on June 12 and 13 - Welcome cocktail reception at the Prado Museum - A hard copy of JME mailed only to regular members

    Yes. Single-day registration options are available for June 12, June 13, or June 14. A dedicated Programs & Practice Day registration is also available for participants attending only that day.

    Participants are responsible for checking visa requirements for Spain. If you need an official invitation letter for visa purposes, you may request one during the registration process.
